Thursday, January 8: Guest Speakers - Jane Hilger and Sharon Horgan
"Living Your Confirmation"
7:00-8:30 in the East Meeting Room
All of us could probably use a refresher course on the meaning of the Sacrament of Confirmation, that we celebrated years ago. Often, as children or teens, we were unable to appreciate the sacrament fully. Jane Hilger MA and Sharon Horgan MA, formerly of the Archdiocesan Education and Formation offices, will be joining us for an evening to explore the rite of Confirmation and deepen our understanding, on an adult level, of the power of the sacrament and its role in our lives today.
Please register with Chuck Pratt at 763-425-2210 ext. 407, but feel free to join us at the last minute even if you did not register. Free will offerings will be accepted.
Monday, January 12: Movie & Discussion Series - Paul the Apostle
(A three-week series)
9:00 - 10:30 am in the West Meeting Room by the Gift Shop
$5.00/person with scholarships available
Celebrate the Year of Paul by participating in a three part series on Mondays, January 12, 19, and 26. Why not come to 8 am Mass, and stay for some coffee, goodies and the movie/discussion? Each week, we will view part of the movie, Paul the Apostle, and then spend some time discussing what we learned about Paul from this dramatization of his life. Beautifully shot in the Moroccan desert, Paul the Apostle is a sweeping saga of the man whose story chronicles the life of Christ's most prolific messenger. Not even persecution and imprisonment lessened his determination to spread the word of Christ. Please register with Chuck Pratt at 763-425-2210 by Friday, January 9.

Mondays, February 2,9,16, & 23: Adult Confirmation Preparation Classes
7:00 - 8:30 pm in the East Meeting Room
Are you an active, adult Catholic who has been baptized Catholic and received
First Reconciliation and First Communion, but never received the Sacrament
of Confirmation? St. Vincent's will be offering a four part preparation series.
Attendance at all sessions is required. Fr. Wehmann will prepare you for the
celebration of Confirmation, here at St. Vincent de Paul, on Sunday, March
29 at 2:00 pm. Cost is $12/person for book/materials. Deadline to register
is January 21. Contact Chuck Pratt at 763-425-2210 ext. 407 or by e-mail at
charlespratt@saintvdp.org. If you were not baptized at St. Vincent de Paul, you
will need to provide a copy of your baptism certificate. Please note that this
series, which provides an overview of some basics of our Catholic faith, as well
as the Sacrament of Confirmation, is open to any interested adult even if they
are already confirmed.
