Junior/Senior High Level Classes

A Junior High level class

The mission of the Junior/Senior High Faith Formation Program is to assist the teens of St. Vincent de Paul in exploring their faith and inspiring them to become committed Catholic Christians who practice gospel values in their daily lives.

A Senior High level class

The Faith Formation classes for Levels 7-10 meet on Sunday evenings. Two sessions are offered: 5 - 6:30 pm, and  7 - 8:30 pm.  We will have two semesters or block periods. Classes will begin September 23, 2007 and run every week until November 18, 2007. (There are no classes MEA weekend). Students will not meet for class again until January 13, 2008. That will begin the 2nd semester, which runs on Sundays through March 9, 2008.  Please note that there are No Classes on February 3, February 10 (Parish Mission), and February 17 (President's Day Weekend).

In addition to class sessions, each student has service project requirements. In level 7 and 8, one service project is required per year, and for levels 9 and 10, two are required. These schedules are handed out the first night of classes each year.

There are several optional retreats offered each year, but only in levels 9 and 10 is a retreat required. Level 9 students have a retreat here at St. Vincent's one evening from 5 - 9 pm. The level 10 students who are preparing for Confirmation are required to attend a weekend retreat. Staff members here at St. Vincent's coordinate these retreats. Parents and teachers chaperone.

The teens focus on the following subject areas:

  • Level 7
    • The Bible (New Testament)
  • Level 8
    • Sacraments
    • Church history
    • Structure of the Church
  • Level 9
