First Sacraments Program

The policy of St. Vincent de Paul Parish regarding First Reconciliation and First Eucharist consists of a two-fold program.  First, parents are to participate in one meeting in the Fall and one in the Spring in which parents study and discuss the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.  They are then expected to impart the information they have received to their child.

Second, children are to attend classes through the Faith Formation Program or St. Vincent's School.  Preparation for Reconciliation will be provided in the Fall, and an opportunity given to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Preparation for Eucharist will begin in early January, with an opportunity given to celebrate the Sacrament of the Eucharist in the Spring.

If any parents feel their child is not ready to celebrate the sacraments at these times, the parents have the option to wait; but it will then be the parents' responsibility to have the child celebrate when ready.
