NOMINATIONS CONTINUE
Our parish is in the midst of seeking out new members for our commissions, pastoral council and sub-committees. This is a good opportunity to "get out of the boat." We need individuals like yourselves, who are willing to share their gifts, discovered or undiscovered, with your fellow parishioners. Get your tickets for the $20,000 cash raffle. Tickets are on sale after all Masses beginning this weekend!
Monday, February 6 - DIVORCE AND SEPARATED SUPPORT GROUP
If you are experiencing the emotional pain surrounding a divorce or separation please consider joining the Divorce and Separated Support Group, which will begin on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the West Meeting Room. The support group will continue to meet each Monday thereafter for 6 weeks. Through this group, brokenness can be healed, self worth can be affirmed, and isolation can be overcome. Tuesday, February 7 - PRE-BAPTISM SESSION
All couples intending to present a child for Baptism must first have attended a pre-Baptism session. If it has been over three years since attending a class, you are required to take the class again. The next session will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7 from 7:00—8:30 pm in the E. Mtg. Room. Registration is required. Please call the Parish Office at 425-2210. Babysitting is NOT available.
Wednesday, February 8 - SHARING AND CARING HANDS
Our parish group will be preparing and serving a meal this Wednesday. Once again we appeal to our generous bakers to provide us with cookies for the dessert. Please deliver them to the church office by 10 am on Wednesday. Thank you so much!!
Thursday, February 9 - BOOK CLUB
Our St. Vincent de Paul Book Club will meet at 9:30 am in the West meeting room to discuss the book Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. Please join us!
Thursday, February 9 - 1ST COMMUNION VEIL WORKSHOP
Help wanted to make beautiful Veils for First Communicants! Bring your nimble fingers and a willingness to be creative. All supplies will be there. No experience necessary. We would love to have you join us on Thursday, February 9 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in the East Meeting room. Please call Joyce if you can help out at 763-420-5745.
Friday, February 10 - CANA CELEBRATION
Spend an evening with your valentine and join us for our Annual Cana Celebration. The prayer service will begin at 6:30 in the church with a catered dinner/dance to follow. The Dinner/Dance will be $50.00 with complimentary beverages provided. Guest speakers Jerry and Terrie Schrank will entertain us during the dinner hour with "How to keep the sparks alive in your marriage." A dance featuring the sounds of J.J.R Productions will follow. Tickets will be on sale after masses in the Gathering Area. Please join us for this wonderful evening to honor the Sacrament of Marriage! Friday & Saturday, February 10 & 11 - LUKE 18 RETREAT
Luke 18 is overnight retreat for 7th and 8th graders put on by dedicated, well-trained high school teens and adults. The retreat is held at St. Vincent de Paul on February 10/11 and costs only $30. The goal of this retreat is to empower middle school teens to live as disciples of Jesus Christ today. So, how do we do that? Simple, no gimmicks, real faith sharing, fun talks, great small groups, real relationships, and an entire weekend for and with middle school teens. Forms went home in the mail but can also be found online at www.saintvdp.org/youth-ministry under Retreats. Registration deadline has been moved to February 6!

The Second Collection on this weekend will support the many service ministries provided by Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis.

Come to Regan Hall and enjoy the coffee, baked goods and conversation provided by the "Coffee and Company" Sunday-after-Mass socials. The February 12th Coffee & Company will be hosted by the boys and families of Cub Scout Pack 334. Please join us!

STARVING CHILDREN
SVDP volunteers at FMSC twice monthly. We pack the fourth Tuesday of every month from 9:30 to 11:30 AM and the third Friday of every month from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Come join our teams, meet new friends, have a good time and feel good about your volunteer efforts. FMSC is located at 401 93rd Ave NW, Coon Rapids just off of 610 on the other side of the Mississippi River. We pack highly nutritional meals for the hungry children of the world. Saturday, February 18 - MEN’S SPIRITUALITY GROUP
For men of all ages to discuss living our Catholic faith in our daily lives. We meet from 9:30—11:00 am in the West Meeting Room. Our topic will be: God‘s Unconditional Love. Wednesday, February 22 - PRAY THE “DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET”
Holy hour observed - Each Wednesday through Lent beginning Ash Wednesday, February 22 at 3:00 PM please join us in prayer for the "Divine Mercy Chaplet" in the church. As told in St. Faustina's "Divine Mercy in My Soul", Jesus revealed: At three o'clock, implore My Mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion. This is the hour of Great Mercy for the whole world. In this hour I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion. Saturday, February 25 - STEAK FRY FOR WOMENSOURCE
5:30 - 8:00 pm in the St. Vincent de Paul School Gym. Choice of steak or champagne chicken breasts with baked potato and salad will be prepared and served by the KC‘s. Presale tickets are $9.00 and will be sold after all Masses on February 18 & 19. Tickets are $10.00 ($5.00 for children 10 & Under—chicken strips with Mac-n-cheese) at the door the night of the event. Proceeds from this event will go to WomenSource to defray expenses for a new exam room, training courses, and other expenses being incurred as a result of the new ultrasound machine that the KC‘s are purchasing for them.
Monday, March 19 - “SEASONS OF HOPE” GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
Mourning the loss of a loved one is never easy, but there is hope. St. Vincent de Paul parish is offering "Seasons of Hope," a unique support group for the bereaved. If you are in need of consolation after losing a loved one, we hope that you will prayerfully consider our invitation to attend. The group will meet beginning Monday, March 19th from 7-8:30 pm in the West Meeting Room. The support group will continue to meet each Monday thereafter for 6 weeks. Saturday, May 5, 2012 - LIVING EVERY DAY WITH PASSION & PURPOSE
- A retreat with Matthew Kelly, author of Rediscovering Catholicism
Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. (optional). Retreat will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will
conclude at 1:30 p.m. Please note that registration is required to attend this event. Registration fee is $39. This fee includes refreshments and all event materials. ONGOING MAGAZINE DRIVE TO BENEFIT SVDP SCHOOL

Four major parish events occur every year:
- The Cana Dinner is held every winter.
- The Auction for Education is held every spring and has become one of the major fundraising events at St. Vincent de Paul.
- The Harvest Festival is the parish's major fund raising event held each year on the 2nd weekend in August.
- The Christmas Bazaar, held the first weekend in December, is a fund raising project of the Council of Catholic Women (CCW).
