Upcoming Events at St. Vincent's
and in our Community:
Tuesday, March 9 or Wednesday, March 10 - LEVEL 6 SYNAGOGUE TOUR REMINDER
Level 6 students are reminded of the Synagogue Tour at Adath Jeshurun this week on Tuesday, March 9 or Wednesday, March 10 from 5:30–8:00 pm. Students are to attend their usual class night, report to their teacher in the gathering area of the Church and can be picked up by the main Church doors. Since we are studying about the Old Testament (Hebrew Scriptures) this year, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn how our Christian faith is rooted in Judaism. Parents are welcomed to join us. If you have further questions, please call Tracy Patil at 763-425-2210. Thank you.
March 9 - SENIOR HIGH “COFFEE BREAK” BIBLE STUDY
We will be meeting the 5 Tuesdays of Lent for a Bible Study at different Caribou Coffee Locations. The second night will be on March 9 from 3:30-4:30 at the Maple Grove Caribou in Byerlys! Bring your Bibles and a pen and an open heart to hear the Good News!
Each Wednesday through Lent -- PRAY THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET
Our Lord has told us, "In this hour I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in Virtue of my Passion". Please join and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet beginning Ash Wednesday at 3:00 pm in the main sacristy. Bring your rosary and your prayer intentions. If you are not able to attend, pray where you are and we shall be united in spirit. Call Terri for more info at 763-370-3777 or just come and pray.
WEDNESDAYS FROM 5-6 PM - JUNIOR HIGH TEENS: EDGE
Did you know that the Boy Scout Motto is “Be Prepared”? On March 10th we will learn why they say that, and what that means for us! St. Vincent Senior High Youth Ministry is now on FACEBOOK. Check us out under SVDP EDGE.
WEDNESDAYS FROM 7:30 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. - SENIOR HIGH TEENS: LIFE NIGHTS
On March 10th come hear Fr. Chue talk about his role as a priest and how he heard God calling him to that ministry! St. Vincent Senior High Youth Ministry is now on FACEBOOK. Check us out under SVDP LIFE Night.
Thursday March 11th - BOOK CLUB
The book club always welcomes new members. Come check us out at our next meeting on Thursday March 11th, 9:30-10:30 am, in the W. Meeting Room. Childcare is provided upon request. Contact Suzanne at 763-424-7798. Our next selection is A Three Dog Life, by Abigail Thomas. When Abigail Thomas’s husband, Rich, was hit by a car, his skull was shattered, his brain severely damaged. Subject to rages, terrors, and hallucinations—and with no memory of what he did the hour, the day, the year before—he was sent to live in a nursing facility that specializes in treating traumatic brain injuries.
This tragedy is the ground on which Abigail had to build a new life. How she built that life is a story of great courage and change, of moving to a small country town, of a new family composed of three dogs, knitting, and friendship, of facing down guilt and discovering gratitude. It is also about her relationship with Rich, a man who lived in the eternal present, and the eerie poetry of his often uncanny perceptions. Please join us in discussing this interesting autobiography.
