Penance & Reconciliation

First Reconciliation at St. Vincent's Parish

The policy of St. Vincent de Paul Parish regarding First Reconciliation consists of a two-fold program. First, parents are to participate in a meeting in the Fall in which parents study and discuss the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They are then expected to impart the information they have received to their child. More information about this meeting can be found on our First Sacraments Program page.

Second, children are to attend classes through the Religious Education Program or St. Vincent's School. Preparation for Reconciliation will be provided in the Fall, with an opportunity given to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

If any parents feel their child is not ready to celebrate the sacrament at this time, the parents have the option to wait, but it will then be the parents' responsibility to have the child celebrate when ready.
