September 27 is the Feast Day of St. Vincent de Paul, our parish patron saint!
St. Vincent de Paul is known as the patron saint of charities because he helped found religious orders to serve the spiritual and material needs of the poor. He established hospitals, orphanages, and homes for the mentally ill and devoted his last years serving prisoners and slaves.
Locally: Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis has served the poor and vulnerable in our community for over 145 years and is the largest comprehensive social service nonprofit in the Twin Cities region. They provided 450,000 nights of housing and shelter and served over one million meals to those living in poverty, as well as providing mental health, children’s, refugee, pregnancy, and parenting services.
